Well you can believe the hype or not - that doesn't make it go faster - look at the pipeline that is being built in Alaska that will go through Canada - how many years will it take to build and how many years until the fuel hits America - these things do take time.
I didn't follow Pelosi's drilling thing because I just wasn't interested. I have looked at the off shore drilling because I live along the coast and I can tell you almost no one here wants drilling off of our coast - it is a big vacation area and no one wants to do anything to endanger that revenue just so people can continue to drive SUV's. I guess it just depends where you live and how much the drilling policies will affect your life. If you don't live near drilling you can more easily support it, when it is in your own backyard you might feel differently about it.
"Look at how many professional football players, basketball players etc out there that come from poor families, but they're proud because their mother worked hard to get them a better life. You see, those are the people I love to help. Those are the people who I admire."
Well I am sure the professional football players and basketball players will appreciate your help - in the mean time I will keep helping the poor and disabled. So don't stress over it.
"Talk about hype, you're only listening to Obama and other dems that are saying it will do little. It's amazing that how as soon as Bush lifted the ban on offshore drilling, the gas prices dropped. But the dems are saying "oh no, that wasn't it, it was the fact that we are using less oil, driving less". Huh, what a coincedence that the prices dropped IMMEDIATELY after Bush lifted the ban. If it was us not driving, don't you think prices whould have dropped maybe even a week prior to the lifting? "
Well Bush may have lifted the ban on off shore drilling, but thus far NO additional drilling has taken place! So, if there has been no additional drilling, therefore no additional oil, how has lifting the ban lowered the price?? You say 'what a coincidence' well that is exactly what it is a coincidence. If you actually followed the oil situation you would know that Americans drove less every month and therefore used less gas every month and that this reduction in US demand for oil had an affect on the oil speculators and thereby lowered the demand for oil and the price of oil - basic Econ 101. I have not needed to listen to Obama for this information - although I really don't think I have heard him talk about how us driving less has driven the prices down. I have followed the financial shows - primarily conservative financial shows actually. I also took many economics classes while I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - so I do in fact have some knowledge of economics.
So exactly where am I wrong on this particular issue?
True, but in the grand scheme of thing what would it matter. Just think if Jeffrey Dahmer mother had an abortion 17 young men would not have suffer hideous death. What if Adolph Hilter's mom had an abortion, how many lives would have been save? Abortion was not an option when my son was born. If I know what the outcome would be I would not have chosen abortion.

Lot of that going around.

There is a little bit more involved here than vacation revenue.
Also, Walmart does have good insurance, so that would also take some of the burden off taxpayers if welfare recipients got jobs there.>>
Sorry but you are very very
