Is it possible that Sarah Palin knows her family and her limits well enough to have made this choice to run? Is it possible that she truly feels she can serve her family and her country best by running and winning and making a positive difference?
Of course I realize that most of the pps here don't agree with her positions and therefore do NOT think she will make a positive difference - but in her own mind, she has a chance to run, win and help lead our country in a direction that SHE feels is best. That is serving her family in the long term. What I see so far in her - she does not seem to be the hardened career politician who is just name and power hungry. She got involved at local levels, was good at it and found out she could make a difference.
I'm very interested in her and look forward to learning more about her and her positions. I'm thrilled that a "mom" can have this opportunity. I personally don't think I would run - I know how hard it is to just run a business and have 4 kids (who have gone to work with me since day 1, something I read she does with the little one sometimes.) But, she seems to be a tough cookie - more power to her.

Anyone disturbed at all that the 17 y.o. is getting MARRIED to the father? I guess those with conservative views might see it differently, but IMO marriage is more difficult than parenting at 17. I was 19 when I became pg with my first and 28 when I married. Although being a young single parent had it's challenges, marriage (and I have a good one) has been a more taxing experience. At least you can count on maternal love with a child, but with a man who leaves his clothes on the ground, dishes in the sink and looks at you like you've lost your mind when you ask him to change a diaper, well that love takes real WORK!

"I was skeptical of Governor Palin from the very beginning. Why? Because she seemed so indifferent to the care of her newborn son."
How do you figure?
Hi all - this really intrigues me...

I'm SURE she believes this.
"The pregnancy is the girl's responsiblity (along with her boyfriend), making the pregnancy into a media spectacle is entirely Mom's responsiblity.
Using your logic Obama should bow out...no telling what his daughters will be getting into in the next couple of years.
I'm confused.....her daughter got pregnant.
"How in the world could
However the word choice means that she has to do what is best for her and her family....not you and your family.
