Don't you think that the picture of Obama, his wife and his 2 daughters holding hands and walking into the columns (to indicate the White House) was using his kids?!?!?

She pleased the people ready to be pleased and that she needed to please within the party. She didn't trip up, she is a fairly decent speaker. I don't think she swayed many wavering independents.

I would like to see her in an interview with unscripted answers.

Yep, she can read a teleprompter well........but she still didn't say where she stands on the issues?

i knew from the start she is not my candidate based on the issues. However, i was truly interested in her speech from several angles.

1) she presented herself exceedingly well. she spoke well, she seemed comfortable with her position and her message. she doesn't seem "fluffy" or too folksy. the right-wing of the party wants to eat her up. that enthusiasm may spread and either win people to her message or make them overlook it because they like her. my first impression: she is a good performer who is happy to be on the national stage.

2) she seems convinced of her message (I wasn't doubting that) and able to deliver it forcefully. my second impression: she will be able to convince voters as well.

3) she took the right tone initially but then gave warning with statements that lacked facts. my third impression: she will get very divisive and resort to smears very quickly.

4) and then she tipped to seeming too smug. a little too ready to take a jab at the media whose JOB is to ask questions and take pictures of the family she has put on stage. as a total national neophyte, i found it ridiculous that she should belittle the record of her opponents - especially Biden. which then makes me think she is one of those people whose self-importance has overshadowed their ability to maintain perspective - and that is the worst flaw of politicians who are steeped in that environment anyway.

it was a lovely speech, she is a lovely woman, she will provide a tough campaign - if she doesn't trip over her own petard.

and rudy giuliani made me want to puke. to hear him talk about family values makes me wonder if the entire GOP has alzheimers.

You do realize she read a speech that was written for her by someone else don't you?? I hope she has great pose she was a TV anchor woman for a while. I can't believe anyone (even those who support Obama) are swayed by speeches given by these people that other people write. So you are actually in tne with the speech writer NOT the candidate.

I am sure she had a lot of input into the speech.
