Dispicable behavior by the principal. It is encouraging that the next generation in the town is supporting the lesbian teen, and the support for the principal is represented by a 73 yo resident.
It's just homophobia at it's absolute best. He should definitely be fired. I understand they are predominately Christian, I just wonder where they forgot one of the most important things Jesus told us.....the golden rule of course.
I think the principal's behavior was appalling....
but...
"to judge others at ALL - that is so UNchristian."
Um, actually, that's not quite true. To judge others by a standard other than what you hold yourself to, THAT would be unchristian. There are times when Christ himself was quite judgmental (Money changers in the temple, for one off the top of my head.) The quote from Matthew is so often taken out of context, and while I know this isn't a religion debate board, it bugs me nonetheless.
I agree with your interpretation. Christ is the only one who knows the hearts of man, therefore the only one fit to judge them. I'll just keep teaching my children right from wrong and to love their fellow man.
OK, aside from the fact that this guy was wrong on SO many levels - someone please explain to me WHY he would have her stay away from children??

You know, I'm a christian, I talk to God on a daily basis.

Sorry, but my personal belief (and you're welcome to your own) is that The Lord is the only one with the right to judge another human being.
