>>Hmmmm, called getting a job and paying taxes. Maybe, you should take your own advice and stop complaining about paying them and be happy for all the opportunities you have here to be healthy, safe and prosperous.<<
Yes. Tell that to everyone who pays taxes and pays their student loans why they get to pay for themselves and their neighbor who gets away without having to pay their own way. Not to mention while your thought is a good one--there is no guarantee they will ever earn enough to pay any federal taxes being as about 40% of current wage earners don't. You can only hope it will allow them to be off the welfare dole or some parts of it.
Whatever makes you think I'm not happy? My only complaint is I see how the policies only serve to hurt those they aim to help the most. I hate seeing people fooled by their own lack of sophistication.
What makes you think lower income folks don't pay any taxes? they may not pay Federal, but they most certainly do pay STATE and local tax depending on what area they live in. They also pay into Social Security. So out of their 175.00 a week take home pay, you would like them to pay even more?
>>Just sounds like a bitter pill to swallow. I think it is peculiar that just a couple people 'round here think all federal dollars go to "welfare recipients" and dismiss the money that goes to other government expenditures that does help every single person who pays taxes and gives opportunity to as many as possible.<<
Why do you care what a few misguided people think? Not that I agree it's what they think anyway. Obviously tax dollar go towards much more than welfare programs although entitlement programs, to include social security, medicare and medicaid are a huge part of the budget.

The objection is to the waste.

Who are any of us to say they don't deserve it if it is their money that they put away (whether through SS or other retirement vehicles.)
