Post-Launch Check In!

Hi, everyone.  I wanted to post to see if anyone is still experiencing any problems accessing the forums.  Our techs are still working to get everyone back up and running.  I know there is still an issue with accessing the forums using mobile devices (tablets and phones).  There was a big problem accessing some threads where we were seeing 404 errors, but that has been fixed.  Please let me know if you are still unable to access any threads.  If you are unable to reply to this thread, please send me an e-mail at pboards@mail.ivillage.com with ATTN: JEN in the subject line or you could send me a private message.

Jessica, our Community Director, has been posting updates from our techs as she receives them.  You can see those posts on the iVillage Help forum:  http://www.ivillage.com/forums/ivillage-women/around-ivillage/ivillage-help

I know this has been frustrating, but please know that we are working as fast as we can to get everything fixed as soon as possible.  Thank you so much for being a part of the iVillage community.

Well, iVillage has finally driven me away. This format is even worse than the previous one, something that I didn't think was possible. Take care.

There's been a steady pattern of format changes and this is all getting ridiculous, Nonsense!

This board had become a joke. Debate was met with tantrums and tattle tails. Mods cozied up to those who en masse "report(ed) as inappropriate", even when their own words were strictly quoted and followed. So, it dies a whithered mess.

Lack of appropriate, even handed administration, lack of effective leadership and decision-making all come together to bring another prog vehicle to a screeching halt. It is a tale seen often. We have seen it here. I hope we see it in another week and a half.

See ya, Newsweek. Farewell to your loyal followers, Oprah. Bye bye, iVillage debate board. Please, let this be the harbinger of more great news some 10 days from now...

To rebuild the message board community, and I appreciate iVillage seeks ways to accomplish this, the bottom line comes down to iV in comparison to other places people can build community.

Think about Facebook and the ease of putting a message upon it, on one's wall, on a liked page, within a group. It's instantaneous, and refreshes some on its own. There are no signatures, etc, it is all about the interaction and content. People need to be able to see other comments and the thread, have it load quickly, and have their messages post as fast as one can snap fingers, with just the tap on the enter key. In such a posting place, one does not need a WYSIWYG formatting editor, just a box to accept text and post a link.

That is the reality, because that is where everyone went. To get them back, it has to be seamless and fast. Ads, so long as they aren't in the direct path, off to the side doesn't faze anyone.

Thank you, Nelle.  You make wonderful points.  I will make sure your feedback is sent on to the team.

Our techs have been working on all of the issues brought to our attention.  They are in NYC, so I haven't had an update on things this week.  The iVillage offices are empty right now due to the storm, but I know they're trying to work remotely if they can.  As soon as I do hear something, I will share an update.

As always, if anyone has any questions or just wants to vent, please feel free to send me a private message or e-mail at pboards@mail.ivillage.com with ATTN: JEN in the subject line.

Ohearto, could you please e-mail me at pboards@mail.ivillage.com?  I'd like to get some additional information, and e-mail might be the best way to go if PMs are being problematic.

I've sent you 3 Private messages.  It says I'm blocked.   I tried to send you an e-mail.  It said it didn't exist.   When I sign in it says I'm not authorized to post.     I'M  SICK OF THIS MESS!   BYE! OUT OF HERE

I guess Ivillage doesn't need posters.

Ohearto, I think I've caught some of this trap.. When I sign in I'm used to just clicking on the reply button or discussion button but that takes me to some survey now or nowhere, It's only when I go to the ivillage home page first and sign on that I can get in and navigate the boards! I hate this format too and I'm tired of the changes..... I hope it gets easier and I hope you stay!
