WOW

I like Colin Powell.

I find myself wishing he hadn't endorsed anyone.

Hmmm....

Powell's endorsement of anyone doesn't carry much weight these days. He's been out of the loop for far too long to really matter. He's not going to help Obama capture the Republican vote, like Obama hopes. I wonder what Obama promised Powell for his endorsement? It doesn't matter, mostly because it's a worthless endorsement in the first place.

Do you think the endorsement was about getting the base republican vote? That 23% was never going to vote for Obama, but the Chris Buckey's, Kathleen Parker's, David Brook's, Chuck Hagel et al of the republican party as well as Colin Powell are making it acceptable for republicans to vote for Obama.

If you're a base republican, you should be very afraid...Obama has been endorsed by mainstream republicans.>

I beg to differ with you. They are not mainstream Republicans who are supporting Obama. They're moderate Republicans, but not mainstream. The moderates have never represented the mainstream. You really should get your facts straight. Why do you think so many of the moderates lost? Because they weren't mainstream enough. The Democrats won back the house and the senate with "Blue Dog" Democrat trickery. You do know what a "Blue Dog" democrat is, don't you?

I totally agree - wonder what Obama offered him, or how much he paid him.

Nope, no conspiracy theory, just a pre-plan in case McCain's poll numbers were to increase any.

To be fair, you suggested that your former National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff could be paid to endorse somebody.

Are Republicans that put him in those extremely important positions such poor judges of character?

It seems that once you've decided Obama assocaites with suspect characters you have to turn everyone who supports him into a suspect character.
