WOW

I like Colin Powell.

I find myself wishing he hadn't endorsed anyone.

Hmmm....

Did you know that Powell saved several lives by pulling people out of a crashed helicopter even though he was wounded?

Things like that are real accomplishments.

>...“Experience is helpful,” he says, “but it is judgment that matters.”<

Why Colin Powell said he endorsed Barack Obama on Meet the Press:

"I think he is a transformational figure"
"He is a new generation coming"
"Because of his ability to inspire"
"Because of the inclusive nature of his campaign"
"Because he is reaching out all across America"
"Because of who he is"
"His rhetorical abilities"
"He has both style and substance"

Apparently to Powell, this is "the standard of being a successful president, being an exceptional president."

Huh?

I've known Barney Frank since he was assistant Mayor of Boston under Kevin White.

Hot water posted (#103):

~Since Powell publicly disagreed with Bill Clinton's plan to let openly gay men and women serve in the military, how will he react if and when Obama rescinds the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy?~

I envision a day when I could be arrested for using my former freedom of speech to express my opposition to deviants openly flaunting their behavior in public.
