I thought this article did a great job explaining the problems that will go along with McCain's healthcare plan.

Obama talks a good talk but all the substance to be found on health care is a huge new buracracy.

"U.S. healthcare administrative overhead is twice that of the Canadian system. These researchers found that 31% of health care expenditures in the US went for administrative costs. Obama advocates that we increase this overhead further with no clear indication that quality will improve."

The whole article can be found at: http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/03/obamas_health_care_plan.html

I can't say I like Mc Cains plan but at least he spells it out in detail.

existing children? Aside from giving the info when you register for daycare or school, I'm not exactly sure how/when you prove your children are insured. I assume there would be some sort of verification necessary since coverage would be mandated.

and the % that still won't be covered under his plan, will some of them be kids? Since health insurance would be mandated for children then it would be presumed that no children would be without insurance.

and what happens if they do the verification for daycare/school and a parent doesn't have coverage and doesn't qualify for state? SCHIP

How do you imagine the BO man is going to pay for his health care plan? He's going to tax you for it. He has the best health care plan in the world. Why isn't he going to opt out and use his own health care plan if it's so great? Why doesn't he just offer everyone the Congressional health care plan if he is so concerned about the average American having the best health care? And where is your proof that civil rights will disappear if McCain is elected?

one thing I can't say I've really heard either of them address much less extensively address is one of the biggest issue with our current health care system ... cost.

I mentioned this in another thread but I wanted to point it out again here, please do not refer to Obama as "the BO man". I have no problem with you using his initials but there's no need for the "the" and the "man" b/c it only reinforces that you are using his initials in an attempt to disparage him.

As far as the rest of your comment is concerned, this is directly from Obama's site -

  • Establish a National Health Insurance Exchange with a range of private insurance options as well as a new public plan based on benefits available to members of Congress that will allow individuals and small businesses to buy affordable health coverage.
