Is Race An Issue?

I have been lurking recently and I haven't seen this come up. I've seen the sexism come up regarding Palin but not the race issue for Obama. I think his race has alot to do with why pp don't want to vote for him. I don't understand how some pp can be a die hard Democrat and support Hillary to the fullest but as soon as Obama won the democratic nomination everybody jumped on McCains band wagon. Sure everybody will say Obama did this and Obama did that. So has McCain. Every presidential candidate promises CHANGE.Bush said all

First Impressions Lasts a Lifetime.

Ah, more of that subtle Obama racism... You're not big enough to admit you are a racist for voting against him... LOL

I would vote for Condi if she were Rep. or Dem. I really like her and trust her. I look at the person and not just the party.

The reason

It seems strange to me that you would vote for Condoleezza Rice whether she is a Democrat or Republican just because you like her and trust her.

Why is that scary? I vote for who I feel would do a great job...someone I would TRUST whether they are rep. or deomcrat.

I honestly think party does not matter. Sorry that I vote on who I trust

I vote based on who I TRUST.

It is my choice and I feel that you are not respecting the way I choose to vote! To each his/her own.

I think Shannon's trying to ask you what you're trusting the candidate for. I have a feeling that we can trust most of the politicians for something. There are certain politicians that I trust to go into office and do whatever is in their best interest. There are certain politicians that I trust to always follow their party line no matter what. There are certain politicians that I trust to try to capture the media's attention at every turn.

I'm sure even Hitler's constituency trusted him to do exactly what he said he was going to do.

That's the scary part. If you don't pay attention to a candidate's issues, then what are you trusting them for? Do you mean you just get the sense that they're telling you the truth? That's not a bad thing, but make sure they're telling you the truth about something you support.

I trust that Barack Obama is telling me the truth that he thinks the decision of when life begins is above his pay grade. I trust him on that. It doesn't mean I should support him because of that.

I trust that John McCain is telling me the truth when he admits that he left his first wife after she was disfigured in an automobile accident for a beauty queen 20 years his junior. I trust him on that. It doesn't mean I should support him because of that.

These are just two (very minor and even inconsequential) facts about the two current candidates, in my opinion. But do you see my point? I think they are both trustworthy. It's just a matter of what I'm trusting them to do.

I do not trust Biden OR Obama with my lunch money. SORRY!

Ayers through a party for Obama in his living room! I can't let that go. Obama sat and listened to Wright's sermons for 20 years. I can't let that go.
