While in some ways having a black president overcame some barriers, Obama in office has exposed prejudices that have been hidden below the surface for decades now. Not all who oppose him are bigoted, but I suspected a sizeable percentage are, given what we see in the way of attacks, 'humour', etc.

Weird. Obama invites a U.S. citizen to the White House for a poetry thing, one that Fox News earlier said his "music is very positive," and the wingnuts have yet another freakout. It must hurt to be a wingnut being pulled around by the nose by Fox News.
