Racism is alive and well...

While in some ways having a black president overcame some barriers, Obama in office has exposed prejudices that have been hidden below the surface for decades now. Not all who oppose him are bigoted, but I suspected a sizeable percentage are, given what we see in the way of attacks, 'humour', etc.

Eric Bolling from Fox News: "Obama chugging 40's in IRE while tornadoes ravage MO. Very intense show tonight. Beckel and Mike Gallagher, Rep... "

Oh come on, he can't chug a 40. Michele probably can, but not Barack Hussein.

There's a certain wingnut faction who have already proven exactly what would have happened had Obama rushed straight over to Missouri...they would have said he was getting in the way and why was he making it about him. If he doesn't go right away, he obviously doesn't care. Wingnuts will never be pleased with anything Obama does as evidenced by every petty thing they criticize him for.

As to the 40 reference, I'm not surprised that a blatant racist comment is attempted to be joked about.

Sounds an awful lot like the left's criticism of Bush re: Katrina.

"40" is racist now? And that is because some blacks use that term? Some whites use

Yep, it's a racial slur against blacks.

Nope, only the racist remarks.

Dems label everything "racism" because they can't actually defend Obama on the issues so they pathetically try to turn the argument around on those with legitimate criticism.

It's only racist when it's convenient. If a democrat said it, you would bat an eye.

I certainly won't argue that race plays a big part in the way we (as a society) act. After all, 96 percent of black voters voted for Obama, presumably because of skin color. The tricky part about Obama being a race other than white is that you can't say anything negative about his policies (or lack there of) without having to defend yourself against cries or sly looks that imply you're a racist. I'm not a racist - he could be purple for all I care, but I am conservative in favor of small goverment and personal responsibility. I dislike where we are as a country under his leadership and I disagree with a lot of his actions.
