The summit and the exhibit hall where the boxes were sold had been open since Thursday afternoon. News stories about the waffles appeared on the internet late Saturday afternoon. Organizers cut off sales on Saturday after the reports, saying they had not realized the boxes displayed "offensive material."
waffles are funny - I get it. racial stereotypes are not. they are not "civil" and they do not support the ideals of equality. and they certainly have very little to do with the values of my family - contrary to the stated goals of the sponsor, FRC Action.
if this had been a sexual stereotype of Palin, do you think we would have "no comment"?
Bea
If it had been a sexual stereotype of Palin, you bet there would have been an uproar.
wow.
the lack of comment from the conservative side is deafening.
how do you feel about the FRC allowing Obama to be portrayed this way? without a response, should it be assumed you are okay with this representation of the opposing candidate? he deserves it? politics as usual?
because without a response, i have no clue how you feel about it.

They didn't know my BACK SIDE!! Why would they even sell them then?? My 13 yr old daughter say
OMG!!!
And the big story this week was about lipstick on a pig???
Alright, let's see if "fiercly independent" O'Reilly has the huevos to call this one what it is - disgusting. Let's see if anyone makes Gingrich and Romney make a statement on this.
The concept could have been funny - he waffles. Why did they have to exagerate his race? Is that really what the "values voter" thinks? It certainly sounds like these people assumed they were selling to a receptive audience.
Gross, gross, gross.
according to the news story, they were selling like hot cakes (HA my own attempt at humor). and they sold to a receptive audience for 3 entire days - Thursday night until Saturday night - before being shut down by the sponsors. Although the sponsor cited "offensive material", I suspect it had more to do with media coverage that started on Saturday afternoon. i don't believe that no one from the sponsor in the reception hall saw that booth in the 72 hours it operated.

like most radicals they fail to see they do their cause more harm than good.
