In Todd's world, a sentient living human woman has less choice about the fate of her body, than whatever may have been conceived, through force and violence, in her uterus.

Extemely well worded, IMO.

Nowhere in his response was any sense of how a raped women would feel about being forced to bear (and being daily reminded during her pregnancy) a "child" of force and violence.

Because, from the conservative viewpoint, the woman is a non-issue.

George Lakoff, July 16, 2012

The abortion issue is really about male control in family life -- and in society in general. It also involves the notion that women who engage in immoral behavior, such as sex with partners they do not seek to have children with, ought to bear the consequences of their actions as a "just punishment."

Dr. Jack Willke wrote:
To get and stay pregnant a woman's body must produce a very sophisticated mix of hormones. Hormone production is controlled by a part of the brain that is easily influenced by emotions. There's no greater emotional trauma that can be experienced by a woman than an assault rape. This can radically upset her possibility of ovulation, fertilization, implantation and even nurturing of a pregnancy. So what further percentage reduction in pregnancy will this cause? No one knows, but this factor certainly cuts this last figure by at least 50 percent and probably more.
Mitt Romney said:

I am proud to have the support of a man [Dr. Jack Willke] who has meant so much to the pro-life movement in our country. He knows how important it is to have someone in Washington who will actively promote pro-life policies.
