interesting that you bring up CEOs....because i have heard a candidate blame them for a lot....
but really...how many overpaid CEOs are there...compared to the amount of regular citizens? take teh amount that CEOs are overpaid, and divide that $ by the number of regular citizens, and it is pennies....so really let's not harp on the extreme minority and say that changing them will help anything.
this is exactly why this board is so great, we all have different life experiences, and if shared correctly, we can all learn a great deal from eachother!
it is posts like this that i find very useful to me in forming my decisions, opinions.
what is your proposal? what should be done to help the people who work thier fingers to the bone?
I think what most of us involved in this discussion just want you to admit that the following statement you made is wrong b/c as many of us have pointed out, hard work doesn't guarantee more money or advantages.
everyone has the same opportunities....if " the classes below them" want to have the same advantages, they can...they just have to work to earn such privileges.....

Perhaps you don't know who Warren Buffet
i do....and i stand by my assessment that he is wealthy...that doesnt' mean he has a high income....
he has a lot of investments.....but income tax is based on income....if he doesn't realize much income.....it is misleading.
Thanks Court! for the sig!

Your right the military, police officers, and fire fighters have no risk or sacrifice involved. I just do not get this logic at all.
you missed the second half of the discussion where i discussed supply and demand.

I know people who work their fingers to the bone every single day of their lives, and they never get ahead.

I'm going to try ONE more time. I do pay taxes...I NOT recieve a full refund..therefore...the government does keep part of my money as taxes.

Alicia,
don't give up, i am listening.....my point is....there are more people than you think that don't pay income taxes.
WAY more than you think...it shocked me when i found out, and that is why i am so adimant on informing people...
ok....you said...THe government could not survive is 50% of all tax payers paid NOTHING.
but that is how it is!
the rich currently pay a rediculously high percentage, and make up for the people who don't pay.
the top 50% highest income pay 97% of the taxes paid...
and you said...the wealthy pay more in dollars..because they MAKE more.
but....the top

ok..i admit it
you are right
work doesnt' guarantee advantages...
BUT...my real point was the flip of that.....in that....advantages are earned thru hard work / risks / sacrifices.
Thanks Court! for the sig!
