"I just don't see how that is possible since those cuts were not for the middle class - unless you are referring to the rebate checks sent out as a stimulus and that is entirely different - one time deal only which Obama is saying he will do for those truly in the middle and lower classes. If you truly benefitted from the Bush tax cut then you are not truly middle class."
Hmm, as a middle class citizen(lower middle class- we have 4 children and have never made more than $60,000 a year) we got an increase of our child tax credit from $500-$1000, a personal reduction of $2000 right there.
There was also the elimination of the marriage penalty in 2001 (I think) that increased the amount of standard deduction we were allowed to take as a couple (until that time, if you filed jointly, you didn't get double the single payer deduction, it was about one and a half).
And then there was the 10% bracket creation that created an even lower tax bracket (the smallest one before was 15%).
So, I think you are completely wrong that only the wealthy benefited from Bush's tax cuts.
"Snide is not pointing out the obvious racism running through America (being more and more evident when people have to make up reasons that Obama is more evil)"
I personally find it offensive that because someone does not like another's reason for not voting for Obama, they must be racist.
>>Perhaps most importantly though as to why I see McCain as the lesser of two evils is that if McCain wins, there will be a divided government. Both sides will have to compromise to have anything happen. If Obama wins, we'll have a Democratic Congress and a Democratic President. I prefer to see a divided government, because that has a tendency to better rein in the extremists on both sides of the aisle.<<
Why do you insist on say that wealthy people are being given something back? They use much less by the way of government services than all other income groups and yet they pay the highest percentage of their income.
To "not increase their taxes further" is not to give them anything back but to merely allow them to retain that which they have earned. It's to steal less from them. You make it sound as though it's some sort of gift to them.
If you want to reduce the capital available needed to grow jobs and the economy by putting into the wasteful hands of government officials who in reality have no true personal skin in the game go ahead and keep raping the wealthy---that's not the way to lift the country up. That's the way to stagnation.

And yes I meant propagna... cutting and pasting statistics from the voting record isn't the same as half-truths and made up facts.
Again, I don't think this is congress (republican or democrat).

Worth repeating!
