Why do you think McCain is better and why do you think Obama wants a socialist nation?

This debate forum has gotten a little out of base with the original question.

Thank you for sharing why you are voting for McCain, HOWEVER you could have shared this information without bashing Obama. I'm not even going to get into the horrible things you said b/c I just can't take it anymore. Can we PLEASE just stop bashing the other candidate?! I really feel like I'm so close to leaving this board b/c so many people can't seem to articulate why they support "their" candidate without trashing the other choice. Why does there have to be so much negativity?! Let it go people! I'll support "my" candidate and you support "yours".

I'm sorry if this is coming off as a rant against you b/c I certainly don't mean it to but

Actually, you're preaching to the choir, and I didn't mean you in the least when I said I wish people would just answer questions directly.

Maybe I can help a little. Granted this is my own personal opinion so please bear that in mind. I don't think it is really a big deal when people experiment with drugs when they are young. Obama and Clinton are far from alone. G.W. Bush had a drinking problem...and a reported cocaine problem...McCain has admitted to drinking quite a bit when he was young..and so have many many senators and firgures of authority. I think the key is that they all learned from past mistakes. When you have a difficult time in your life....you learn from it and hopefully never repeat it. I thought the whole Clinton and pot thing was so rediculous....but then again I really see less harm in pot than say drinking to excess. I think by public figures sharing their past troubles...it can help others..and can also to help people see they are human..and they have learned a hard lesson..and have become a better person because of it. If Obama was still using drugs..of McCain was still drinking to excess...that would show he never learned and shows bad judgement still. We all make mistakes..but we also learn from them. It is in the learning that we become who we are and can see the difference in good and bad choices in manner some never will. Just my 2 cents.
