Why do you think McCain is better and why do you think Obama wants a socialist nation?

I can see what you're saying and I don't think you are that different form most. But the slippery slope is....should he be up front and honest about it...present it in a way that might help someone...or should he not mention it and then have someone drag it up...and he has to go on the defensive. Clinton got in trouble for hiding it and not admitting it. I mean come on...it was the 60's...even my mother who gets silly after one glass of wine and won't take tylenol because she thinks it is bad for you....tried pot. I would much rather know up front....than have someone hide it and be used to create a HUGE scandal that diverts form the issues in an election. How bad would it be to find out something like that during the election? I mean....if say John McCain had a drug problem....would it be better to know up front....and it be a minor talking point...or would it be better to have it found out now? KWIM?

I understand what you mean, and believe me, for the average person, experimentation with hard drugs wouldn't cloud my opinion of them.

Its a non-issue anymore because Gore smoked pot in Vietnam, Bush experimented with coke, and Bush and Cheney have 3 DUIs between them. In the 2000 election, there was no way to talk about drugs without throwing stones.

I guess that makes Gore v. Bush a "gateway election".

They are not trained as well as active duty memebers who spend there whole time traing. Not only that but they rely on the Federal Goverment to train them, look it up sometime.

You might want to tone it down a bit.

I agree with that assessment, spouting off such vulgar, hatefull comments DOES NOT help your case, as a matter of fact, the first few (4) sentences in your post made me ignore the rest of it.

come up with a respectfull way to hold a conversation, and maybe people will take you serisoulsy.

As a side note, how do you think those Texas Guard members who are currently deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq would react to your quip that they aren't trained as well as active duty soldiers?

Ok.. you started out fine.. explaining why you support your candidate but when the bashing started boom ya lost me. I'm done with this board. I get called out for saying OTHER PEOPLE call McCain "McSame" however the same RESPECT rule does not seem to apply to the other side. Obviously you are angry and won't listen to the other views so I won't waste my time talking to you. Except to say thanks, you cemented my vote for Obama and my decision to leave. So yeah thxbyehaveanicelife.

NOOOoooo. don't leave. then you let "them" win. i don't mean the conservatives- i mean you let the ignorance win, the irrationality, the raw emotion over substance, the hate. there are still people on both sides who are able and willing to debate and inform. just put the rest on "ignore."

it saves a lot of reading.
