Wouldn't it be nice if as much emphasis could be placed on free or affordable access for chemo, high blood pressure meds, insulin, etc... Obama shouldn't be making the decisions about healthcare either.

The ACA does have a number of preventative services covered without copay for all adults, women and children. What is preventative about Chemo, HBP meds etc?
Obama is not making these decisions, they are recommendations from experts on good public policy with cost savings as its intention. If these policies work, there will be less need for HBP meds, insulin, chemo etc.

http://www.healthcare.gov/news/factsheets/2010/07/preventive-services-list.html
Preventive Services Covered Under the Affordable Care Act

If you have a new health insurance plan or insurance policy beginning on or after September 23, 2010, the following preventive services must be covered without your having to pay a copayment or co-insurance or meet your deductible. This applies only when these services are delivered by a network provider.

Well, not free, but...we have two insulin users in our family and insulin is covered by our insurance, with a small (compared ot the price of the insulin) copayment. So are many other medications, including contraception. The whole point is that some want to separate reproductive health care from other health care, and limit access to things they disagree with personally, like limiting family size. Health care is health care, and if I choose to limit my family size through contraception, that is my choice, and it ought to be covered just as my other health decisions are.

Just to note that Type 2 diabetes may be prevented by lifestyle decisions (although there are genetic factors involved as well), but Type 1 is an autoimmune condition which can be neither prevented nor cured at this time.
