ROFL,

We are mad about it, chose this home because of the neighborhood elementary school.

Yes we do Private School.. it's a Christian School in southern Wake County. Our DD is going into 5th grade and next year I'll have one in the K5 program

I can't imagine having more than one child in year round school.. and them being in different schools with different treks 'out'. What a mess our school system is. There could be a school right down the street from you but your kid might not go there due to how the redisctriciting goes and the low income children percentages having to equal out.

There is a school in a nearby town here that has been on a 4 day a week schedule for as long as I can remember. It's quite effective and parents, students and school officals alike all love it. It was implemented years back to help with energy costs because that school district is so small. Our school district has 5 day weeks, but if in the fututre that changes I am ok with that.

I agree with you to a point. My dd is 13 yrs old and she would burn out if she had extended hours at school. We'll be sending our children

Yes, schools do not operate in a vacuum.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure

So many of the elementary school kids go to day care after school a longer day wouldn't matter too much!

This is totally OT, but...

My kids' middle school will be starting at 9:05 am and getting out at something like 3:20pm. They love it and I love it! Studies show kids at this age actually have biological need to "sleep in" so I'm really glad to see them push back the hours!

I agree with you.
