The schools that do 4 day weeks generally take Monday off, not Friday.

To get my kids an after 4 pm dental appointment I have to book it 7 months in advance.

In our district the schools for grades 7 - 12 are 15 miles from my house which has a majority of the kids.

You know, I have to admit...I *ask* for afternoon appointments, but if they don't have one during the particular week that I need/want, I will quickly accept whatever they can give me without one iota of guilt about taking my kid out of school.

Yes, I know...horrible rotten mommy.

You can do it in the lower grades.....but as the kids get older schools have attendence requirements for each class....and not for the entire day.

I really think that our school has gone overboard on documentation of Dr. visits.
