LOL...having been a medical biller, that is NOT an insurance issue, but a doctor gimmic to make more money. Doctors know full well that they are not going to get 100% of their charged rates (and never expected to). It's a joke, and pharmaceutical billing is even more so.

"For an average $60 office visit medicaid pays about $24, and most are rejected for some infraction only they understand. "

That was probably the most maddening part of my job...darn MediCal rejections.

It's bad here in Michigan but I've heard "MediCal" is one of the worst in the nation.

The birth center I worked at was about 40% medi-Cal. Horrible. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
What's really depressing about it was that my own insurance didn't cover Birth Center births (the facility portion of the fees) but women that didn't work got to have the beautiful, lovely, peaceful birth that I wouldn't have been able to afford if I wasn't an employee there. Jealous? Heck ya!

Tri-care paid for my son to be born at Kapeoloni and weekly doctors appoints with u/s. We did have to pay $13.00 a day for the hospital stay. They are also paying for my friends delivery at a birth center here in GA.

Woah, woah, woah... you think that by having GOVERNMENT health care, this is going to get any better?!?!

I'd imagine that the good old Government will care deeply about what types of foods we eat... don't you ? I mean if they care about putting up NO more new Fast food places in CA because the poor people will eat junk.. what do you think they'll do to the rest of us when they get their mitts on our insurance?
