Like I said, it was adequate ;) After pushing for 2 hours with my first child, the oncall doc (my midwife was called into another delivery) came in and without so much as even looking at my vagina, says, "Mrs. R...you need to push this baby out or we'll have to cut it out." Yeah. Dickwad. Tripler is the reason why I never wanted another hospital birth again. I also had to write a letter of complaint to the patient liason regarding the length of the wait for regular OB appointments (they were consistently 20-30 minutes PAST my appointment time before they'd even take my blood pressure and weight) and then on the one instance where I was walking into the clinic 5 minutes past my appointment time (because the parking sucked, prior to the new parking structure they built later) they CANCELED my appointment. Wouldn't even let me wait to be the last to be seen. Nada. On topic though, that's exactly the kind of level of care everyone on Universal Health Care would get...if they're LUCKY.

I heard nothing but fantastic things about Kapiolani though! How long were you guys there? We lived there from 95-99. I take it you were at Schofield? I LOVED that commissary. Ahhh...good times, good times!

Bwaahhaaaa, oh man, I needed that!

Oh wait...were you serious?>>

Yes, I was serious because the VA has done this very thing and has proven they have better care than many private hospitals at a much cheaper cost.

< And by a number of measures, this government-managed health-care program--socialized medicine on a small scale--is beating the marketplace.

Your right Janet and the public pay a percentage of government health care.

You've got to be kidding me......Within the past year it was reported that the CT scanner was so far behind in screeening patients that they deleted patients from the list to get caught up.

Because it's one thing to pay for a small group of people like Congress!
