Hey I'm totally with you. I think it's ridiculous that we should have to pay for things we don't use...and I ESPECIALLY think the whole idea of Universal Healthcare is crazy.
But be prepared. "They" are going to hit you up with the ol' standby response of..."You use roads/bridges don't you?" "You want to be able to use the police/fire dept don't you"?
All nonsense.
Of course we all use those things and I'm sure you (like me) have no problem paying into the system for the basics.
"no one has answered the one question I had about why I should have to pay more taxes for other people's families to have health care? "
I can't answer that, 'cause I agree with you!
"And yes my opinion is that if you don't contribute to society you should not be able to vote on how us "contributing" people should have to use our tax dollars."
Well, it's fine that it's your opinion, but the Constitution pretty much limits the only requirement to vote be citizenship of adult age. I've been a SAHM in the past, should I not be entitled to a vote? My grandparents don't work (and get this, they even collect a government check), should they not be able to vote? My uncle is permanently disabled due to major accident at the police academy, should he not be able to vote?
