Technically, it's 53% of the country. While Bush had only 51% Obama has 53% (52.6) of the popular vote.
And a 68% approval rating by some source as of today. Yeah!

HMmmm one pseron's comment....tkaen out of context I am sure...and that represents all of the people who voted for Obama. That's quite the astounding leap in logic.
As to your comment about the economy.....it was failing before Obama was president elect...and has continued to do so. The economy didn't suddenly fall apart on November 5th....now did it? If it had I would certainly think it had something to do with Obama.
