"Back then" people were thrown in jail for being poor and doing what you are(speaking out against their government). Sometimes they didn't even get bread or water. History was my favorite subject in college. What was yours?

Are you serious? When did indoor plumbing become the norm? My grandparents were born in the 20th century and they all used outhouses, too. It's not a sign of struggling or poverty, as far as I'm concerned, it was different technology.

Half of my great grandparents were also Irish. I disagree with you. Although they did have to face a lot of discrimation, it pailed in comparison to what a typical black person at the time faced.
