"It's really disheartening to see such a 'glass half empty' attitude from anyone"

i think i was the first to comment on this topic 'out loud' so i will give my reasoning. the first thing i noticed was the baby pic... i didnt even realize the ID change or the name... my initial thought when i saw karen's pic was "oh, knjess changed her baby pic" there was no doubt in my mind that the babies were the same. they looked the same, and the pic was the same style: bouncer, head shot.

then the IDs are too similar... K=karen j=jess m=unknown..maybe last name, maybe morgan?

then the opinions/writing style....obama=socialism

then finally the timing...shortly after knjess said some incredibly offensive things she disappeared (i would even venture to say banned, looking back on the posts from that time and all the ones from her that got deleted) now karen shows up, picking up right where knjess left off.

since i havent done a dna test none of this is conclusive...but it is enough for me... everyone can believe what they want (cant say i wouldnt be interested if we took a poll on this topic ;)

yes

but it has been my personal life experience that expose me to visualizing more people abusing welfare than i see cheating on thier taxes....

everyone sees something different...

but it is easier for me to be more angry at the welfare abusers, because that is what i see more of, and i am led to believe there are more of...

my experinces...yours may be different...i suspect Karen may have been exposed in the way i have, and she sees more welfare abuse than tax fraud.

I don't understand how you can say "bad is bad, there's no kinda bad" and then go on to say "1st DUI, maybe a second chance.

i can see your reasoning as to why you came to that conclusion....but since you weren't sure....

and to me (not knowing what awefull things knjess had done) it looked like people were trying to scare off a newcomer because they were of opposing views...

it seemed like someone said, hi i am a republican, and i am new here, and some people immediately gave her a cold un-welcoming....

that was what it seemed like to me.

clearly you ( or others) had some reasoning.

i think this is an interesting point... i think it seems that there are many on welfare who abuse the system, bc it is visible. the things we cant see are the people who are on welfare and truly benefitting...how would we see it? we also dont see tax evasion or white collar crimes... so it is easier to play it down. but none of this proves

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean that it doesn't effect your bottom line. Instead of being outraged about the liberal democrats who want to use tax dollars to help the less fortunate - They might well understand those that hide money are doing even more damage - less tax dollars to go around for those who are in need causing the need to raise taxes so there is enough to go around.
I don't know about you but I see poor people in my area and I have no idea who is or who is not abusing the system, But for someone to assume that one is abusing the welfare system because they use foodstamps and appear to dress better than them is a more than a bit absurd. There could be a number of reasons why that woman appears to dress better.

1. I and many of my friends and co-workers donate our old business clothes to a local womens shelter so that those women could have nice clothes to wear to interviews and to work
2. thrift shopping - you can pick up great things for cheap.
3. bargain shopping in general.
