i see your point, but at the same time, i feel that if someone plans to do something illegal regarding a gun, they will do it...it is harder to control the underground gun market than it would be to control welfare recipients.
people can get guns anywhere....but welfare recipients can only get it from one place (govt)
it would be easier IMO to put restrictions on welfare than on guns.
and...i feel that if someone really really needs welfare, they will take the extra steps to get the welfare....
where if someone feels they need a gun, they are more likely to skip the extra steps to do it legally, and get it elsewhere (illegally)

"and once again, what can an ordinary citizen do to fix the issue?"
For me personally I will not be doing business with AIG or any of the other banks that have ran aground.

Maybe i am "not understanding that" because you are not explaining what you mean....give me an example...
imo there are 2 definitions of corporate waste, one of which has ne bearing on you or i....
so depending on what you are atalking about, and since you haven't explained what you are talking about...it is easy to see why i don't think all corporate waste is as big of a deal.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure

I have not understood your theory of how "one" person on welfare can change their actions and impact society.
Keeping money off shore is not "cheating".
