So dissapointed

In my area and those around me. I am so THRILLED for the outcome of this election, every now and then I just get these tears of happiness from out of nowhere. But besides my family ( parents, sister and DH) NOONE around me is happy with the outcome and the things I am hearing are AWFUL. I want others to be happy with!

Yesterday when I picked up my 5 year old she was upset, when asked why she said " Lilly ( a classmate) said Obama kills babies" and she started to cry. In her little mind she thought Lilly meant he actually kills babies, and all she could think of was he was going to kill her baby brother! WHO TELLS THEIR FIVE YEAR OLD THAT??? I am livid!

Also yesterday at work DH told a co-worker how well spoken Obama is, the co-worker replied thats how the anti-christ is supposed to be. ( I have since found out the co-worker is the grandfather of Lilly!)

last night amongst friends, one says Obama is going to raise taxes to create welfare programs

apparently your deeply christian secretary was unaware of what men looked like in the part of the world Jesus lived in at the time he walked the earth.

That is so true, I guess most people think of Jesus of a blonde haired blue eyed fair fellow, when that isn't the case at all. People like that wouldn't except Jesus if he bumped into them. They have made their own Jesus and own value system. I feel ashamed that she acted like that, but know that she is not a Christian. Even if Obama was the Antichrist (Which I know he is not!) God would not want these "Christians" to "resist their enemy" which is really in the Bible. I am soooo tired of these "Christians" telling me what the Bible says about muslim antichrist. How dare they tell me lies, I actually read the bible unlike them. God doesn't want you to treat anybody with such hate, not even the evil.

Sadly this line of thinking isn't only in the country where he was elected.

>Eventually, all the ranting about how he's a socialist Muslim terrorist will have to subside in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.<

Economy is not an exact science, it is a field of many different theories/philosophies where decision makers have to maintain a balance. Some theories have been proven not to work because they are simply too idealistic and do not take into account human nature (such as Marxism and plan economics). When a government implement new economic policies there are always the potential for several outcomes, basically because it is very different to do an exact calculation for human behaviour. You can argue that by instituting welfare programmes you will disincentivise people to work, but on the other hand if it is possible to maintain a decent living on minimum wage, then there is no incentive to use welfare.

The World Economic Forum has come out with the report on the world's most competitive economies http://www.weforum.org/documents/GCR0809/index.html

Funny, Obama has shown no desire to appoint these phantom Islamic terrorists to his administration.

Because they don't exist. They were a way (IMO) to devert from the fact the McCain had nothing to offer.
