I think HCR was the biggest news maker coming out of this administration, while also Tea Party and Palin from the media.

I dont know about biggest, but I think that walk by Nancy Pelosi and gang with that stupid gavel was the single dumbest thing of the year, which might have led to the biggest news of the year.

I think that the elections, and the campaigns were the biggest political stories of the year.

I think since Obama still had the largest campaign dollars (prior to this ruling) The ruling is pretty irrelevant to what is going to be spent. No different than unions and others out there campaigning. If someone doesn't like what an ad says or doesn't believe it (I think of the Andy Griffith 'Service Announcements') look up the info for yourself and decide.

(Will we demand to know who (actual names of people) is advertising, and will we permit politicians to sue the group(s) and corporation(s) running the advertising that is plainly false? )

Just curious if you feel the same way about the Unions doing the exact same thing?

I agree. The hype from the left over the citizens united decision is nothing but rhetoric as far as I'm concerned until they also include unions and other groups that fall outside these boundaries.
(The Andy Griffith commercial drives me nuts! I have to wonder though how many people do find out the facts for themselves)

This is not about campaign contributions.

Isn't all that money spent GOOD for the economy?

Well...the advertising agency and television/radio ad sales guys are probably rolling in the dough, so it might be good for them. It got to the point in October, that we just turned off the t.v. for a couple of days, because the political advertisements were so constant and so annoying. But I guess somebody made money of those ads.
