The personal attacks during the campaign did disgust me although the Democrats were much better behaved than the Republicans IMO. I don't think the US has gotten to the point where all candidates running can focus on issues only but perhaps the fault is not always with the candidate, rather the political machine behind the candidate, handlers and advisors.

>Also, I don't understand what you mean when you say that "homosexuals have never engaged in open homosexual unions except with the sanction of government".<

Another way of putting it is that until recently,

I honestly don't remember, since I don't know the Bible that well anymore. I don't base my political viewpoints on the Bible, since we have separation of church and state. Perhaps you could tell me, and maybe you could explain how that answers my question about whether it should be illegal for a woman to remarry after divorce, since the Bible says that's wrong too. If you're picking and choosing from the Bible, after all, why limit it to gay marriage? Your question about the Samaritan woman doesn't really answer that for me, sorry... I understand if you don't have an answer and need to deflect, though.

I thought he said, Go and tell.

I could very easily be wrong....I didn't bother to look it up first!

>I thought the founding fathers were pretty clear they didn't want religion in government.<

To avoid going over the same ground I've distilled the argument to its essentials.

If you spell check your posts you will see that a lot of your words are misspelled as well. God is not a bigot but a lot of those who follow him are . They use his words to justify their own bigotry, hatedred, and ignorance. My husband and I both went on missions for our church and stuff like this is what scares people away from the God you profess to worship.

No doubt about it.
