who do gay people/gay couples harm? pedophiles and serial killers certainly harm people...which i would hope their actions would never be considered as a norm

That's another topic. I was merely arguing that because something may not be a choice doesn't make it right--necessarily or automatically. In other words someone may be genetically predisposed to all kinds of unnatural or what most would view as abnormal behavior and yet we don't accept it as a cultural norm.

Many could be viewed as not directly hurting others. I just used those two as examples and thank you for trying to imply that I was equating them equally harmful because obviously that would be ridiculous of me.

Are you saying that "most" would view homosexuality as abnormal behavior? Do you have proof of that?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I'd say this makes it clear they didn't want government and religion mixing.

The supreme court is the final say so on the constitutionality of laws.
