Has anyone else heard that the outspoken sheriff, the one who is out front politicizing the shooting, might be trying to cover up the fact that his dept has had run ins with the suspect in the past...including reports of the shooter making threats on the lives of more than one person in the past? The sheriff assured the citizens that the suspect was being well managed in the mental health agencies of the county and that filing charges wouldn't help the citizens. Also that the suspect's mom is a county employee...if that is the case how might this have influenced the dept's decisions not to press charges? If a felony charge had been brought against this mad man, would he have been able to purchase that gun? Does the sheriff maybe have cause to worry that he needs to cover his own rear end? Hmmmm, I was wondering why this man was so out front in his placing of blame...unusual for a law enforcement position. Maybe this makes sense......

Exactly. Nobody is trying to shut anyone up...just tone it down and quit with the violent hyperbolic speech.

Hmmm.. I don't seem to recall that when the Democrats had their target maps or when Obama was using his vitriolic rhetoric that Democrats or the media or any other liberals

Well, one can only conclude that in their rush to blame conservatives, they have totally ignored most of the victims of this tragedy.

Another thing that sickens me about this whole thing is that liberal politicians are now trying to profit from this tragedy.

one can only conclude

Actually, I think there is a different, more reasoned, conclusion that can be reached.

Care to detail why the shooter shot her. What about her being a politician motivated him to shoot her?

no one tried to "pin" it on anyone. but when you see THIS: http://www.alan.com/2010/03/24/palin-puts-gun-sighs-on-target-map-says-ti/

it really makes you wonder.

if stephen colbert had a map like this and sarah palin's name was on it and if palin was shot under similar circumstances, can anyone HONESTLY say they wouldnt wonder what kind of influence it had? i know i would.

An awful lot of folks got shot, not just a politician. We have a series of horrific crimes committed by one absolute freak.

We also have an entire group of media,
