Has anyone else heard that the outspoken sheriff, the one who is out front politicizing the shooting, might be trying to cover up the fact that his dept has had run ins with the suspect in the past...including reports of the shooter making threats on the lives of more than one person in the past? The sheriff assured the citizens that the suspect was being well managed in the mental health agencies of the county and that filing charges wouldn't help the citizens. Also that the suspect's mom is a county employee...if that is the case how might this have influenced the dept's decisions not to press charges? If a felony charge had been brought against this mad man, would he have been able to purchase that gun? Does the sheriff maybe have cause to worry that he needs to cover his own rear end? Hmmmm, I was wondering why this man was so out front in his placing of blame...unusual for a law enforcement position. Maybe this makes sense......

I think this is more about you not liking liberals and being dissatisfied with what they do and say then anything valid.

Not for me to judge if someone should die or not. I am not saying that he shouldn't have to pay for his crime, I am just saying that I do not feel comfortable being the one to sentence him to death.

I watched CNN and Fox and they were both concerned with the same things. They both went live for medical conferences, government officials

You keep sayign that they didn't care but you keep failing to provide proof that they didn't care.

I find it sickening, too, that anyone would use this tragedy to raise money for their agenda.

That's not exactly what happened. In Dupnik's first statement, he didn't specify conservatives, right wingers, or name any names. The right wingers started attacking him (how did they know he was talking to them?) and it was only in a later interview that he specifically named a few people.

Didn't you know that we must be living in an alternate universe? In my universe, no one has tried to "excuse" Loughner's actions...not one person.

It's really quite the coincidence that Palin had a map of the U.S. with crosshairs and names of specific Democrats (Griffins being one of them) to be targeted...and along with that, Palin was tweeting "don't retreat, reload." Griffins called Palin out at that time for that type of inflammatory imagery and rhetoric and called it dangerous. Quite the coincidence that Griffins gets shot while performing her duties as a Representative.

I didn't see any stories blaming Palin, but certainly pointing out that her rhetoric certainly contributes to toxic environment that is surrounding politics these days.

I agree, but for some people, they seem to think that everything must be equal when in fact nothing is equal. Some things are worse than others.
