Has anyone else heard that the outspoken sheriff, the one who is out front politicizing the shooting, might be trying to cover up the fact that his dept has had run ins with the suspect in the past...including reports of the shooter making threats on the lives of more than one person in the past? The sheriff assured the citizens that the suspect was being well managed in the mental health agencies of the county and that filing charges wouldn't help the citizens. Also that the suspect's mom is a county employee...if that is the case how might this have influenced the dept's decisions not to press charges? If a felony charge had been brought against this mad man, would he have been able to purchase that gun? Does the sheriff maybe have cause to worry that he needs to cover his own rear end? Hmmmm, I was wondering why this man was so out front in his placing of blame...unusual for a law enforcement position. Maybe this makes sense......

Those who seem to think that violent rhetoric coming from public figures is not a big deal have their heads in the sand.

Oh, you caught that, too?

Are you a Jon Stewart fan? On most of his shows he has a clip of the Conservative talking points of the day. The way he strings them all together, person after person, same quote over and over, it ends out being funny instead of ridiculously annoying.

But, I think he emphasizes the point that your are making.
