Oh, I totally agree with you on this one Sue. I made a lot of poor choices as a teen but it wasn't b/c my parents didn't educate me. They did- I knew all about STD's but honestly didn't think I'd ever get one. I'm fortunate in that I didn't but it wasn't b/c I was painfully careful. And to be honest, I made a lot of choices in spite of my parents' advice.

I agree that it is the parents responsiblity to educate their children-- especially in regards to the media and how this relates to real life. And in a perfect world our children would always listen and understand the importance of these things. But sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. Our children are going to make poor decisions sometimes despite what we teach them...

Hi I'm Judy,I heard about it on CNBC 2 days ago.It was said the Girls went to the school nurse. She was testing them. Some times over and over.15 Girls are comming to you for pregnancy tests. And you don't report it yourself? When it was clear some of them were trying to be pregnant.I don't blame movies.Parents not always-not enough information, yet.I am drawing a blank.More to learn, then maybe we shall see. Getting young girls to feel like the have a future makes you gag?? I am not sure why that is? It has been proven that young people who think they have no future are more likely to get pregnant.

I know that. I just think the whole, "We need to understand why they feel this way" touchy feely crap is ridiculous.

The parents need to sit down with their kids and (here's a crazy idea) PARENT them. We don't need to know WHY they think they have no future...there are girls in far worse conditions that do the right thing every single day.

THIS is a case of a bunch of little twerps wanting attention...and going about it in the most selfish of ways. Now not only will THEY suffer...but their kids most likely will too.

So yes...it makes me gag.
