REASONS A VOTE FOR BUSH IS A VOTE FOR A DRAFT

1. BUSH SENIOR ADVISOR KARL ROVE HAS ALREADY SOLICITED AND OBTAINED GOP SUPPORT FOR A DRAFT IN CONGRESS.

2. THE BUSH PENTAGON PLANS “5 OR 6” REGIME CHANGES AFTER NOVEMBER 2.

3. THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION IS PURSUING THE NEOCON VISION OF “WW IV” WHICH THEY DEFINE AS A CRUSADE AGAINST RADICAL ISLAM WHICH FESTERS "EVERYWHERE" IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

4. EVEN ONE REGIME CHANGE—IRAN—WOULD REQUIRE CONSCRIPTION.

5. THE BUSHIES HAVE ALREADY LEAKED PLANS FOR REGIME CHANGE IN IRAN.

6. THE SELECTIVE SERVICE PROMISED TO GIVE BUSH THE GREEN LIGHT ON 3/31/05 FOR A DRAFT BEGINNING ON 6/15/05 AND THE SELECTIVE SERVICE IS FILLING DRAFT BOARD POSITIONS.

7. "IT DOESN'T TAKE A NUCLEAR SCIENTIST" TO SEE BUSH CANNOT MUSTER THE SUPPORT OF OUR ALLIES AND WILL NEED AMERICAN TROOPS TO COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSS OF ALLIED TROOPS; EVEN CONSERVATIVES CALL HIM THE "MOST DETESTED" WORLD LEADER. FLASH (10/18/04): GOP FOREIGN POLICY STAR SAYS BUSH ACTED "CONTEMPOUSLY" OF OUR ALLIES. GEORGE BUSH IS BY ALL ACCOUNTS UNABLE TO MUSTER ANY DEGREE OF MULTILATERAL SUPPORT FOR HIS WARS OF CHOICE; THIS MEANS US TROOPS WILL DIE ALONE IN COMBAT.

8. THE BUSHIES HAVE TAKEN MEASURES TO STOP FLIGHT TO CANADA, TO ELIMINATE COLLEGE DEFERMENTS, AND MAKE EVASION HARDER.

9. THEY ALREADY HAVE A DRAFT PLAN (OBTAINED UNDER FOIA) AND IT DETAILS A DRAFT THAT INCLUDES WOMEN AND EXTENDS UP TO AGE 34.

10. ASK THE EXPERTS: COL. RON RAY; PROF. DON ZILLMAN; PROF. NED LEBOW; COL. DAVID HACKWORTH.

KERRY VOWS NO DRAFT

OBVIOUSLY IF KERRY BROKE THIS PLEDGE HE WOULD BE COMMITTING POLITICAL SUICIDE AND WOULD NEVER BE RE-ELECTED IN 2008. BUSH ON THE OTHER HAND HAS NO WORRIES ABOUT 2008.

FIVE REASONS JOHN KERRY WOULD NOT DO A DRAFT

1. KERRY HAS ALREADY BLASTED BUSH FOR THE "BACK DOOR" DRAFT

2. KERRY HAS SEEN COMBAT; IT IS REAL FOR HIM NOT IMAGINARY

3. KERRY HAS TRIED TO INCREASE MILITARY

I don't know what to think but it scares the heck out of me! My dd is in college and there's an email going around college campuses with link to the house bill to start the draft back up in June of 2005. If reinstated, they will be drafting young men and young women between the ages of 18 and 26.

I'll see if my dd still has the email. If she does, I'll let everyone know and they can email me if they want a copy. Or would I be allowed to post that info here?

a lot of those emails are totally fakes ........... they can be checked sometimes at sites like factcheck.org (in fact that have an area where they ask you to send stuff in so they can verify it) or the urban legends site.

A scare story spreads electronically, but it gets facts wrong.

The more time I spend on this board and others like it that is what disturbs me the most.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read this post. This is obviously a scare tactic, yet it is working. I disagree with single-issue voting anyway, but if you're going to do that, at least pick a real issue.

I am really enjoying this board, because it challenges me not only to think through and articulate why I support the positions I do, but it also gives me different viewpoints to think about for issues I do not have a firm position on.

Thanks for the info Sandy. I'll make sure I also pass it along to my dd along with the website you suggested. She said she has gotten a total of 12 emails from friends all over the country about this draft issue.

I had told my dd it was probably a stupid hoax, I know both candidates have said that they won't be reinstating the draft.

I hadn't had a chance to check it out myself. I honestly am so turned off by all the political clamering right now I'm avoiding most things political these days. I know who I'm voting for and why. The rest is just plain annoying.
