I applaud you for doing your homework. I actually don't think either one is good for our nation. I think they have forsaken the ideals and goals of our founding fathers and even my own 16 year old daughter has commented that our nation really isn't that free anymore. Brave? pf! The media makes this election look like a circus of suave high school bullies. Like a couple of three year olds playing "He's bothering me mommy. Let me tell you what he did!"
This nation is the PEOPLE and not the MEDIA who chooses. Yet time and time again we 'allow' them to make up our minds for us. I don't want a popularity contest. Just because someone is popular doesn't make them right.
I know we'll never have a perfect president, but we need to wake up and make up our own minds and d our own research. I enjoy the boards and blogs for that reason. I admire Americans who do their own digging and report it whether it's on boards or on blogs.
I think that we fall victim to believing gossip about the candidates. We need to look it up for ourselves. I have found rumors about both McCain and Obama that were unfounded and far fetched. Just those with an agenda seeking to steer voters way from the one candidate they don't want. I'd rather have factual news than news with views.
Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate a persons opinions, if they can back it up with facts.
So you feel that your husband should have no say in Kaleb and Joshua's life?
Because no matter how much you want something for your kids, if you are dead it is what he wishes that will matter. Elian's father has rights, as he should. Eilians distant relatives in the US do not have rights over Eilan that superceed his parents rights.
Try it this way. Let us say that your husband decided your sons would be better off being raised in Canda, so he takes off with them for Canada. He dies on the way, and they end up with relative in Canada. Would you sit back and just say "OK, its what their father wanted for them" or would you fight for your right to raise your own children?
>>Just for the record, I heard a story about a lady who spoke out against Obama and he sent his secret service agents to seek her out<<
Yeah, I heard that too, it was a bad day for her too, she'd already contracted HIV off the needle she found in the ball pit at McDonalds.

Elian Gonzalez was returned to his father, who was his only living parent, and who had legal custody of him.

The facts show that the middle class shrank by 11% in the last eight years.
