That comment tells me that you don't deal with the public in general.
I have.
I can't tell you the number of times I've explained this to most people. In every case they want too much withheld so they can get a "refund". The logic against this either escapes them or they know the limits of their own self-control better than I do.
I don't understand using the tax system as a means of forced savings but it works for very many people. Personally, my aim is to owe--so long as it's no more than 110% of my previous year's liability. But I like to use my earned income as long as I'm able to hold off on its confiscation. My approach is by no means the norm.
I've already posted this twice but I'll post it again since you seemed to have missed it.
The tax increase would be for families making above $250,000 or individuals making above $200,000. Many people making between $150,000-200,000 will see reduced taxes or bigger refunds but they may only get partial tax credits b/c the credits do phase out just as many current credits do. So that's
Here's a quote from Joe Biden's Florida interview that's become so famous in recent days since the reporter who did the interview lost her job over it. She caused Biden to have a meltdown by quoting Lenin and Marx to him.
Biden:
"Spreading the wealth was not--he was talking about is all of the tax breaks have gone to the very, very wealthy. For example you have right now, this year, under the old tax policy that was just - that was put in by George Bush, people making an average 1.4 million a year, good people, decent people, patriotic - they're going to get an $87 billion tax break. What we're saying is that $87 billion tax break doesn't need to go to people making an average of 1.4 million, it should go like it used to. It should go to middle class people -- people making under $150,000 a year."
In the last line Biden specifically says people making under $150,000. Now what are we to believe? I'd say Biden let the cat out of the bag once again as to what Obama's true intentions really are. Obiden plans to raise taxes on everyone. You just don't know it yet. If they keep revamping their tax plans like this, the amount will only keep going down hill. Case closed.

~I respect you all, and I can honestly admit that I can blow things out of proportion.~
Thank you for explaining.
