You pay taxes on what is remaining after you deduct your expenses from your income. That's your profit and the amount you're taxed on.
At the end of the year, you as an individual or family settle up with the IRS. You've paid taxes (normally) all along through payroll deduction or by paying estimated taxes directly to the IRS. You then claim all of your various types of income, subtract certain things you're allowed to subtract to reduce that income and what is remaining you're taxed on.
You've either paid during the year too much or too little and as such would owe more or get a refund.
Here's the thing about your comment. He had the chance to save alot of babies that sat on a room full of shelves at an abortion clinic dying. It's called Infanticide. He chose not to save those lives, instead he decided to not even let that bill go into the Illinois state senate.
God commands it of you, but you need to give freely and not because you're told to or forced to. God wants a happy giver and not someone who is a miserable giver.
I liked Robin Hood stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, you gotta admit that Kevin Costner was really hot in that movie, made me want to be Maid Marianne. But the idea of the government stepping in just makes the government have more control of our lives than I would actually want.
There was already a law on the books in Illinois against such acts of infanticide. If anyone was allowing these babies to die then they were breaking the law and should be held accountable. This has already been discussed several times and so your refusal to believe facts only goes to show how blind you are to the truth.
<<I think Obama could save a room full of starving babies and it wouldn't sit right with some. >>
I agree! Those would complain about the race of the babies, the gender, the state they were born, etc. It's all or nothing with some...Oh and the abortion comment reply to this...a bit much, huh?

I have to agree that you're incorrect here.
