Thoughts on Paul Ryan?

I'm kind of new to iVillage, so I hope I'm posting in the right place!

I was just wondering what you think about Romney's VP choice.  I don't know a lot about Paul Ryan, so I don't have much of an opinion yet.

Yeah, I find it fascinating that the left wing biased media isn't calling out a single blatant Romney lie. Fascinating, I tell ya.

I think one of the most important tools in the media's repertoire is their silence. Stories that barely get any coverage at all, when it will hurt the Obama administration. They sure went after Obama and his connections to assorted terrorists, criminals, Rev. Wright... so much to list.

What about those school transcripts for such a smart, smart, man? Years and years, and not the slightest leak. I wonder how a pothead/cokehead that was in a daze for the last two years of high school got into Harvard. I'm sure they will cover that story pretty soon.

And, there is also how they really go after Obama at press conferences! I mean, if he ever has one.

<<What about those school transcripts for such a smart, smart, man? Years and years, and not the slightest leak. >>

All you need to know is that he graduated from Harvard magna cum laude and was the president of the law review. In order to do that, his grades had to have been pretty darn good. It sure seems that people fishing for those transcripts simply cannot believe that a black man is smart enough to accomplish what Obama did at Harvard.

As to the "silence," sure seems that everyone knows about Obama's "connections" and most have decided that there is nothing there. I know that's never going to be good enough for the tin foil hat wearing crowd, but they see conspiracies in everything. No point in trying to placate them because it simply won't happen.

On the other hand, there IS a lot of silence from the press regarding outright lies Romney is telling. Not a single one of them is calling Romney out about them, but are letting him whine like a little baby that he is being viciously attacked by Obama. C'mon. Get real.

Paul Ryan is an economist, so I guess you're on board?

What "single blatant Romney lie" are you referring to?

A Romney ad claimed Obama's cuts in Medicare would cut benefits. The irony is Obama's plan cuts over payments to the private insurance companies that participate in the Medical Advantage plan. Ryan's plan shifts cost on to the individual and the program will no longer be deemed a guarantee benefit.

Well...how about his kindergarten transcripts? Oh yeah...they're from some Kenyan Madrassa...that proves he got to go to college only because they wanted him on the basketball team so Harvard could take its rightful place in the Final Four. But there's always some guy with his neck bigger around than his head to shoot down your gridiron dreams. Next!

He has a BA in economics and political science, and worked as a congressional staffer and speech writer until elected to Congress in 1998.

He has never worked in the economics profession,

I have an undergraduate degree in Physics - it doesn't make me a Physicist.

I don't get to enjoy the ads...no TV. Palin kinda made up for any deficit with her weird endorsement of the Romney/Ryan team...doesn't have anything nice to say, and she says it all...

A B.A. in economics and political science doesn't make one an economics specialist...which is easily shown by the derision that has been heaped on his "plan" by real economists.
