He has shown such dignity this evening. I loved his speech and have so much respect for him now. Three cheers for McCain. Thanks(McCain) for running and the time you spent in service of our nation.

~Everyone discussed (in the news) for posts in the Obama adminsitration that I've heard about have been white men and women with extensive success and experience with the Clinton administration or Bush administration.~

No time for detail. Just a drive-by. I heard from some people that Obama's victory speech was one of the all-time great American speeches. When I listened to it later, I thought, "It's a very good speech - but not a GREAT speech." It was adequate, proper given the somber context of our country's current situation - and good. But it was not great. McCain's concession speech, however, was one of the very best I've ever heard from a modern politician. Gracious, classy, lofty and personal. He gave the speech, however, to among other people - a bunch of idiot fratboys who kept interrupting with boos when Obama was mentioned and shouts of "USA" inappropriately. Pne of the things I tried very hard to do throughout the campaign - not let my opinion of McCain be colored by the most vociferous idiots supporting him. (Not, of course, that everyone who supported him is an idiot - just a heckuva lot of the really vocal ones.)

It's not customary for a VP to speak on election night, either on the winning or losing ticket.

You are misinterpreting a light heart with something negative.

You are definitely entitled to your opinion. I think both were great.
