Umm you just said a few posts ago that you used to sneak out and go to parties every weekend and let older kids buy you booze..which I am assuming you drank. ( How is it that you have never drank again?) I had a BFF in high school who's parents never let her do anything..they were extremely religious and horribly strict. She did her chores...she worked hard..she was never allowed any reward for being a good kid..and the minute she turned 18..she ended up with a 35 year old...using drugs and drinking to excess. This is ususally the case with every person I have seen who had parents that were extreme diciplinarians. I let my children have some freedoms and room for negotiation...but I still dicipline them and make them do chores.
