*sigh* Here we all are, debating the merits of our favourite candidates, when in reality, neither of them is going to be an effective president.

ITA agree. Even if things were not such a mess already whoever is elected can't just go in like a king and change everything. Everything has to be approved by congress correct? They can tell us what they would like to do all day but what they will accomplish toward those goals, who knows.~shrug~

"and the fact that America's image is very tarnished in the eyes of the rest of the world. We have a lot less political and economic clout on the global scale than we used to, and it's going to be a hard row to hoe to gain any of it back."

What political or economic clout do we not have and how is it hurting us?

P.S. I agree neither candidate is ideal, however, I know one is totally unacceptable for me at least, but no one is here to have their minds changed. :-)

American's new math:
60% of Americans pay taxes; 5% of Americans pay nearly 90% of the taxes collected; but one presidential candidate has gotten Americans to believe he's going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans (and doesn't mention he's not going to renew the current tax cuts set to expire after the next president takes office).

Don't let 'em get you down. Don't let the cynics win. This too shall pass.
