Vote Rep. based on 1 issue?

I have always been right in between the Republicans and Democrats on the important issues, but have recently discovered that I actually agree more with the Democrats than the Republicans.

Well here's the thing about your one issue stance. If you are against abortion then don't have one, seems pretty simple to me. I fail to see how other women choosing to get an abortion affects you personally.
As far as Obama saying we can reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies, I'm pretty sure he means teaching something other than abstinence to kids. Also I personally would like to see the government try to focus on promoting women give their babies up for adoption rather than just saying hey abortion is wrong, you need to have this baby. How are you going to provide for this baby? Oh we don't care about that, we just want you to have the baby.
Does giving those things really prepare kids emotionally for being responsible for another person? Does the gov't offer to provide clothes, diapers, car seats and the such? I'm not saying the gov't should offer these things, rather the gov't should try to prevent these pregnancies from happening in the first place.
Spoken like a true democrat! I like to vote for what I think is best for my country even if it's not best for me personally.
In the case of abortion it's probably one of the few things I disagree with them on.
I know several individuals who would not vote for a pro-choice candidate, and would often disregard the rest a candidate's platform if they were pro-life. However, time after time, when pro-life candidates are elected they do little to nothing regarding the issue of abortion.
There is a difference between a candidate who is pro-life in principle vs. a candidate who has a pro-life agenda. Most candidates who say they are pro-life are just providing lip service, GWB included.
