I am trying to understand something here...I am an independent, undecided registered voter...

There has been much discussion about ACORN and voter fraud.

I work for a govt agency where millions of people apply for a 'card' and out of those millions, there are people who apply with fictitious information for various reasons and we have controls in place that catch about 90% of them - unfortunately not many automated or human controlled systems are 100%. There were approx.

I don't hold Obama at fault for the fraud of ACORN, but, I think the long-term association shows that the talk of "a different kind of politician" ring hollow - Obama is just another Chicago machine politician, he's not some "breath of fresh air".

I don't think this is unique to ACORN.

>>This occured in California this year, with new registrants finding that their party affiliations had been changed to REPUBLICAN by the those who were collecting signatures<<

Yes, my dh and friends found a lot of these when out canvassing this year!

We shouldn't be surprised there were some "bad ones". The reason we shouldn't be surprised is not because of the large number of new registrations but because of ACORN's history.

I've been wondering about 2 things:
1. Why hasn't ACORN been shut down? They clearly choose to ignore the fraud and pretend to be surprised when it repeatedly happens. What's the saying....Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. IMO it's not just insanity but stupidity.

2. With ACORN's history of fraud, why is the government still giving them money? In the first version of the bailout, which did not pass, ACORN was to receive a large chunk of the $700 billion.

I do think both candidates should come out loud and clear denouncing voter registration fraud. I don't understand why either of them would be opposed to that?

I think it's time for the people who run ACORN to face prosecution for the actions of their organization. If this were a corporation, the CEO's would've been in jail a long time ago.

Interesting development here in MA...

Apparently someone broke into the local ACORN office and stole a couple computers...

Other offices in the building were ransacked as well.

Now, is this:

A random crime that only made the news because one of the offices that was hit was ACORN.

I tend to agree with you...

Be interesting to see though, if only for the conspiracy buffs
