Warren Buffet says invest now

I say no way though dh is considering it. We have some cash from a bonus dh got right about the time the market tanked. Why would we want to invest now, with the risk that our taxes might be going up, that dh's job could be put at risk if the economy continues as it is and also at risk from his employer having to pay higher payroll taxes? I say if Buffet wants people with money (but not nearly the kind of money he has) to invest, he should help us get McCain elected.

Do you think the market has hit the bottom? Would you invest now not knowing where the election is going, if you had the equivalent of 3 months household expenses sitting in the bank (in addition to an appropriate amount of other emergency savings)?

Another wise investor - Nathan Rothschild - once said "the time to buy is when there is blood in the streets".

If, like Buffet, you adopt a "buy and hold" strategy, it's not a bad time to start putting money back in.

If I had that kind of money in the bank I'd be too busy crying tears of joy and thanking my lucky stars. :-)
