What about the issues

I read pages, and pages, of he said she said BUT every little about issues. Why is this?? Are the issues not important or have we become puppets in this presidential election?? I would like to think that we, as adults, are mature enough to focus on this issues for a change. So, with that said, what is the biggest ISSUE that concerns you in this election??

economy - Obama will increase taxes, or maybe keep them the same, depends on which version of his "tax plan" you listen to, 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0

My biggest issue right now is the economy and specifically energy costs. Here in Alaska we are facing a HUGE energy crisis. Most people are facing "budget" payment plans on their home heating oil at around $500 per month, along with electricity at record rates (my bill hasn't been below $200 all summer-we don't have air conditioning and don't use lights at all in the summer as the sun is only down about 2 hours a day, so I am anticipating $4-500 electric bills as well this winter). Our gas today is $4.19 a gallon.

The governor and legislature have given the citizens here a $1200 per person energy relief bill which will help. They have also set aside $250 million to research and develop renewable forms of energy which will help in the future. Hopefully ANWR can yeild some additional oil and the gas pipeline will come to fruition, but these are all sometime in the future. I still haven't heard any candidate tell me what we can do in the short term to help families being held hostage to energy costs.

Obama himself has been very clear that under his plan, he will be "deficit spending".

I guess it's the difference between taking out a loan to start a new business, which should eventually improve your situation, as opposed to putting money on your credit card to pay for your "lifestyle".

I found it refreshing to hear Obama flat out say that he will be deficit spending.
