What about the issues
| Thu, 09-11-2008 - 5:33pm |
I read pages, and pages, of he said she said BUT every little about issues. Why is this?? Are the issues not important or have we become puppets in this presidential election?? I would like to think that we, as adults, are mature enough to focus on this issues for a change. So, with that said, what is the biggest ISSUE that concerns you in this election??

1) If you look at your own article, you'll note that Obama is raising income taxes for some.
2) If you go to Obama's website, you'll notice that he's raising Social Security taxes without any increase in benefits.

A worker's retirement income benefit is based on his Primary Insurance Amount, or PIA. The PIA is the average of the highest 35 years of the worker's covered earnings (before deduction for FICA). Covered earnings in any year are limited by that year's Social Security Wage Base, the maximum earnings that could be subject to the OASDI portion of FICA payroll tax ($102,000 in 2008 ).
Therefore, you are only being taxed on the portion of your compensation on which you earn benefits.
Obama will change this, subjecting all income to social security, but not increasing the amount on which you earn benefits.
A few of the places where I agree with your goal but not with your ideas about achieving them:

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure

You're right, amd, we do disagree on some things... ;-)
National Security - I agree that we should never have gotten into Iraq, and I agree that we need to get out, but I think we need to leave a stable government behind.
