>>At the risk of being flayed, I just wanted to comment that I loved her hair and suit.

I loved her suit, too. Really, really nice. Her hair has always been a distraction for me. I keep wondering if she uses hair pieces. (Stupid, I know.)

>>I would have liked to hear him say how the tax hikes are going to affect small business owners (yes I've read the website).

I thought he did address this. He obliquely acknowledged that Obama's tax plan would raise taxes on small business owners who earn (or is that net?) more than $250,000 a year. He also said that 95 percent of small business owners earn (net?) less than this. I have no clue if his figures are correct. I haven't fact checked that -- nor have I seen it fact checked elsewhere.

But perhaps you were looking for more information?

>>she also has executive experience as the Adjutant General of the Alaska National Guard

I've heard this rational given as an example of her readiness, but I'm not sure that I understand it. As I remember the facts -- and I haven't looked this up specifically -- in this position, Palin didn't need to make a single decision. What responsibilities of this position give her specific executive experience.

Clearly Palin has more executive experience than any of the other three candidates. I'm just not following this bit of logic.

>>If it's McCain, then his experience was in effect, elected executive experience by virtue of the fact that the President of the United States voted to commission him as an officer and then each of his commanding officers voted for him in his evaluation reports so that he was awarded his position as CEO of the training squadron. He was voted in- it's just that the voters were relatively few in number.

Now that's just downright silly.

>>She held the mayor position of a small town- and ran the town well according to all accounts.

Well, not by all accounts. She left the city in debt, which has some folks hoppin' mad. *smile*

actually, not like Bush. GWB did not graduate Summa Cum Laude but he did have family money to pay his way in, unlike Obama who actually had to work to get in and stay in.

there is some controversy over how Obama did pay for his advanced education ....

here's the link...and excerpts:

http://www.newsmax.com/timmerman/obama_harvard_/2008/09/23/133199.html

How exactly did Barack Obama pay for his Harvard Law School education?

The way the Obama campaign has answered the question was simply hard work and student loans.

But new questions have been raised about Obama’s student loans and Obama’s ties to a radical Muslim activist who reportedly was raising money for Obama’s Harvard studies during the years 1988 to 1991. The Obama campaign told Newsmax that Obama self-financed his three years at Harvard Law School with loans, and did not receive any scholarship from Harvard Law school.

So if the figures cited by the Obama campaign for the Senator’s student loans are accurate, that means that Obama came up with more than $32,000 over three years from sources other than loans to pay for tuition, room and board.

But a Newsmax review of Senator Obama’s financial disclosures found no trace of any outstanding college loans, going back to 2000.

Where did he find the money? Did it come from friends of Khalid Al Mansour? And why would a radical Muslim activist with ties to the Saudi royal family be raising money for Barack Obama?

That’s the question the Obama campaign still won’t answer.

The baby is still really young and at the "sleeps a lot" phase. I know there are more important things and that's why I said off-topic ;)

She said it incorrectly that's all I was saying. When she was talking about the general in Iraq she accidently mentioned the wrong general (not sure if he was general during WWII or Nam though).

Be careful with your sources. Newsmax Media is actually a political organization that promotes conservative ideals. There's nothing wrong with that, of course. But it's not a reputable, independent news outlet any more than Air America is.
